Born and brought up in Croydon, Stella Fasusi has always desired to play an active role in the local community and help others. She is passionate about fair representation and equality, and it is this passion that led her to become an elected officer at the University of Kent where she studied Law LLB. As Ethnic Minorities Officer, she led campaigns on promoting liberation and rights.
Based in Croydon, Stella works for Croydon Commitment, an organisation that acts as a link between businesses and the local community through Corporate Social Responsibility and challenge and team events. The organisation also runs the Grassroots Trust Fund which awards grants to small charities annually.
She is an active member of the ‘Speakers’ Corner Croydon’ committee, a charitable group that promotes free expression, active citizenship and face to face participation, providing a platform for local people to speak openly about various topics.
Stella altogether has a heart for the community of Croydon and has joined the Commission to bring fresh perspective and work with others in making Croydon a better place to live and work.
